Bodywork and Movement Therapy
Relieve pain. Restore movement. Learn how to maintain it.
John works with people who know bodywork helps — but don’t want to rely on it forever.
Using hands-on treatment, movement therapy, and internal practices drawn from Tai Chi and Qigong, his sessions are designed to reduce pain and tension while gradually helping you understand and care for your own body more effectively.
This work is for those seeking more than temporary relief.
Who this work is for
Many people come to John after years of massage, physiotherapy, or other treatments that helped — but didn’t last.
- carry ongoing tension, stiffness, or pain
- feel restricted without a clear diagnosis
- return repeatedly for bodywork with short-term results
- sense that stress and daily habits are part of what’s happening in their body
They don’t need another quick fix.
They need a different relationship with their body.

How John works
John’s work integrates hands-on bodywork with movement education and internal practices drawn from Tai Chi and Qigong, informed by decades of clinical experience across osteopathy, massage therapy, and movement training.
Sessions often begin with manual treatment to relieve pain, reduce restriction, and restore normal movement. Over time, the focus naturally shifts toward helping you understand why tension returns — and what you can do about it.
The aim is not to keep you dependent on treatment, but to give you the tools to maintain your own health between sessions.

Session Options
60-Minute Session — Hands-On Bodywork
Best place to start
This session is primarily hands-on.
John works with acute and long-standing tension, pain, and movement restriction using osteopathy-informed manual therapy and bodywork.
The intention is not only symptom relief, but preparing the body so it can respond more effectively to movement and internal practices over time.
Best for:
- pain or stiffness
- restricted movement
- first-time sessions
90-Minute Session — Bodywork + Movement Therapy
For longer-term change
This longer session may include hands-on treatment, but places greater emphasis on personalised movement training and Tai Chi–informed internal practices.
Together, you’ll develop simple, practical exercises to:
- reduce the return of tension and pain
- improve posture, breathing, and coordination
- build confidence in caring for your body between sessions
Over time, this work helps shift from treatment to self-maintenance.
Best for:
- recurring patterns
- stress held in the body
- people wanting lasting change
The role of hands-on work
Hands-on treatment helps relieve pain and clear restriction. It allows the body to remember how to move, breathe, and regulate itself.
But lasting change comes from what happens between sessions.
As the body opens and becomes more responsive, movement and internal practices become accessible — allowing you to take an active role in your own health.
Tai Chi and Qigong
Tai Chi and Qigong are systems of movement, breath, and attention that help the body regulate itself more efficiently.
The practices John uses are practical and embodied — designed to support mobility, calm the nervous system, and improve physical and mental resilience.
No experience, flexibility, or belief is required.
You begin where you are.

If you’re looking for bodywork that helps you feel better and understand how to stay better, you’re welcome to book a session.
