From Chronic Pain Warrior to Your Healing Guide

For the first six years of my practice, I battled alongside patients facing the same enemy: chronic pain. Work injuries, migraines, arthritis – I’d seen it all. Acupuncture and herbal medicine became my weapons, and together, we conquered countless battles.

But during the pandemic, a different kind of pain surfaced in me – a hollowness that ached deeper than any muscle. Seeking answers, I stumbled upon Dr. Gabor Mate’s work. His words struck a chord: “Trauma isn’t just what happened, but what didn’t.”

This realisation led me on a year-long journey of self-healing through Compassionate Inquiry. When the world reopened, a new wave of patients flooded my practice. They carried a different kind of burden – emotional pain, fatigue, chronic conditions rooted not just in the body, but also in the mind.

My Practice Evolved
I learned to hold space for their stories, to understand how past experiences could constrict their bodies and lives. By combining compassionate inquiry with powerful acupuncture techniques (including the ancient art of Classical Acupuncture), I witnessed a profound shift in my patients and myself.

Healing Takes Time
Miracles happen, but true healing is a journey. That’s why I created the “Healing Contract” – a structured program that supports both body and mind during this process. It’s about replacing old patterns with healthier habits, creating lasting change.

My Journey Continues
This path of self-discovery is ongoing. Classical Acupuncture, with its focus on the body’s complete energy network, became a vital part of my own healing. It’s a powerful tool I now utilise alongside Compassionate Inquiry to empower my patients on their own healing journeys.

Let’s Heal Together
If you’re ready to explore the connection between mind and body, and embark on a path towards lasting well-being, let’s talk.

Chinese herbal medicine

Jasmine believes regular acupuncture will help her live a little longer, and a lot better. She’s motivated to help people find relief from their everyday health concerns so they can move through daily life unrestricted, free to live according to key principles of daoist naturalism: unburdened; with simplicity, facility and ease; and in accordance with the cycles of nature.

Jasmine wants to help her patients discover how acupuncture can restore function and can be used across an incredibly wide variety of health concerns to activate the body’s innate healing mechanisms. She views acupuncture as a time-honoured modality which is best able to serve patients interested in slow, gentle, long-game medicine, who want to engage with their health now – before it’s too late.

Her special interest would have to be healthy aging and preventative wellness, a field in which she’s seen Chinese medicine really shine! To support patients with anti-aging concerns, and as an adjunct to regular acupuncture, she loves providing cosmetic acupuncture facials as an effective add-on to any skin care routine. Cosmetic acupuncture acts on all tissue layers, going beyond the skin surface to perform what your skincare alone cannot provide.

In your initial consultation, Jasmine will carefully consider and explain your treatment plan so you can come on board to a healing program with clarity and confidence. She recommends frequent treatment during flare-ups/acute stage and less frequent in maintenance/remission/chronic stage and is happy to provide treatment packs. In addition to acupuncture, she can provide herbal medicine alongside personalized dietary/cooking guidelines, yoga and mindfulness, acupressure, gua sha and myofascial release techniques.

Jasmine has big love and gratitude for the Project Dao community, where she worked as a clinical assistant and administrator before starting her practice here.

Dip. Remedial Massage
Dip. Myotherapye

When I found myself in the offices of Melbourne after completing a degree in business and marketing, I couldn’t shake this feeling of meh-ness. I didn’t know what it was but something was missing. Something I deeply craved was not there. I felt like a surfer out of water, in a desert.

That’s when a snap memory is my past hit me.

A flashbak to grade 1, as a little girl sitting on the floor with my class in the library during reading time. I spontaneously started gently scratching my friend’s back as she sat in front of me, she enjoyed this which sparked the others to want this treatment too. One by one my peers started shifting over to me to have their back scratched, it was as if I had this magical touch that my peers craved. This moment was significant, and it was something that I was good at, an act that was so simple felt so profound at the time that it remained stored in my memory.

That memory brought that spark I was missing in my work.

Human touch is what brings me sparkles.

The potential in my touch, what it ignites in others, the deep sense of connection and safety is what I needed to tap into.

Healing Approach
After 14 years of being a Remedial Massage Therapist I have fine tuned my style which is based on balance, balancing the tissue from left to right and up and down the body via Myotherapy release techniques and dry needling. I give the client a picture of their body in space and move the tissue so that healing and balance are encouraged. I’m tuning into the breath and nervous system for whole system healing.

Why do I do what I do
Because this is my calling. Healing others with my touch and my own energy is what I love doing and very good at. Witnessing the release of old tension and injuries in my hands as I hold my patients brings me joy. Guiding my patients to their true self, un-imcumbered by their old wounds whether it’s physical or psychological is my calling.

As my practice is evolving, I am realising that a lot of our physical tensions originate from our mind. This profound realisation has brought me to start studying hypnosis. I am in search of methods of healing that brings freedom to myself and the world.

Finding My Path
Post-university, having graduated with a business and marketing degree, I found myself adrift in the corporate world, a cog in a machine that didn’t resonate. A deep-seated longing for something more authentic tugged at me. Something was missing but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

Then, an old memory came flashing back: I am in grade 1, as a little girl sitting on the floor with my class in the library during reading time. I spontaneously start gently scratching my friend’s back as she sat in front of me, she enjoyed this which sparked the others to want this treatment too. One by one my peers started shifting over to me to have their back scratched. Remembering this memory brought the delight that was missing in my work.

This was the missing piece. I realised my purpose lay in using touch as a catalyst for healing and well-being.

My Healing Approach
With fourteen years as a Remedial Massage Therapist, I’ve refined my technique. My focus is on balance, aligning the body through Myotherapy and dry needling. I believe in treating the whole person, tuning into the breath and nervous system to encourage deep healing.

Witnessing the release of physical and emotional tension is incredibly rewarding. Guiding clients towards their true selves, free from the burdens of the past, is my passion.

As my practice evolves, I’ve recognized the profound connection between mind and body. This realisation has led me to explore hypnotherapy as a complementary healing modality which I have undertaken to study.

Driven by a deep-rooted belief in the body’s innate wisdom, Talieh embarked on a journey to study Chinese Medicine. Her practice is founded on the principle of partnership, empowering clients to take charge of their health.

Talieh creates a safe and nurturing space where clients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. With a gentle and patient approach, she addresses a wide range of health issues, from acute to chronic conditions. Beyond acupuncture, cupping, moxa, and herbal medicine, Talieh incorporates sound and energy healing for a holistic approach.

Her personal journey towards wellness informs her practice. Struggling with her own health challenges, Talieh understands the complexities of finding balance. She combines her knowledge of Classical Chinese Medicine with a compassionate and empathetic approach to guide clients on their unique healing journeys.

It was one of those toastie innocent weekly acupuncture sessions where Talieh blissfully enjoyed the care of her acupuncturist, the idea of studying Chinese medicine came to her.

Talieh had a bachelor in Science of bio technology.

She had just started masters in that field but dropped out 5 weeks in.

Science in the lap or in the research didn’t bring her joy.

Growing up in the spiritual land of Persia, Talieh has always been fascinated by traditional and natural healing. She found all ancient healing modalities so powerful and profound.

The day when the idea came that she should go into the healing tradition herself, life stuck her. She found herself at UTS embarking in Chinese medicine studies.

Although the education was interesting, it left her wanting more. TCM as it stood didn’t fulfil her massive curiosity. There were still questions that the TCM couldn’t answer. So she continued to seek teachers.

That’s when she came across the Classical Acupuncture lineage, unbroken oral tradition of Daoist medicine. As she embarked on learning the framework of all complementary channels used in Classical Acupuncture, she found the answers to all her questions!

As her learnings were online base with her teacher in the States, she sought out an acupuncturist who practises this lineage. She wanted to see how this medicine is getting practised.

That’s when she came to Project DAO. She started interning with Yanan and found her practice deeply resonating with her. “This is it” “This is how I want to practice my medicine”

Yanan’s way of working with her patients to how the practice is managed, the physical space where the medicine is shared all deeply resonated with her.

She has come home.
